Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Beta – Rumored Dates, How To Access, And Platforms

The big multiplayer reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is coming soon, after being leaked. That should set expectations for the impending beta test, which as already announced will be available first on PlayStation. Though Activision hasn’t officially announced exactly when the beta will drop, we have some indication regardless. Read on for all you need to know about accessing the beta.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Open Beta Start Dates

Activision has not announced beta dates, but leaks on other Call of Duty marketplaces (via Tracker Network and Reddit) have consistently given October 8 as the start date on PlayStation 4. If accurate, that would make it exclusive to PS4 until at least October 13, as the company already noted that its exclusivity deal with Sony guaranteed PlayStation access at least five days before other platforms. We could see the PC and Xbox One versions launch roughly a week after the PS4 version.

How To Gain Beta Access

You can guarantee beta access by pre-ordering Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Activision also offered beta code giveaways for viewers of the Call of Duty League matchups. That event is over, but the company could offer more giveaway opportunities in the future across its social media channels.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Beta Platforms

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta will be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game will also release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, but there is no word of a beta planned for those platforms. Given that it releases on November 13, remarkably close to the Series X’s rumored November 10 release date, the systems may not be out long enough to run a beta.
