Xbox All Access was introduced years ago as a way for customers to buy an Xbox One without having to pay the full price upfront. It allowed them to pay a monthly cost, while also getting access to Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold. With the impending release of the Xbox Series S and Series X, Windows Central reports that the service will return, giving people another option to buy the next-gen consoles. If this report is true, then that means you’ll be able to sign-up for a 24-monthly payment period for both consoles with no interest.
The Xbox Series S is confirmed to release on November 10 at $299, while Windows Central reports that the Xbox Series X will cost $499 and release the same day. Microsoft hasn’t confirmed any information in regards to the Series X’s release date and price, but the company did detail the Xbox Series S’s specs in a new trailer.
The Series S is capable of 1440p at up to 120 FPS, DirectX ray tracing, and variable refresh rate among other things. It comes with a custom 512GB SSD, which you’ll need to store all of your games and content as it does not feature a disc drive.
What is Xbox All Access?
According to Windows Central, Xbox All Access will be available for both the Xbox Series X and Series S. This means you’ll pay a monthly cost over 24 months instead of the entire price upfront. Both console plans will come with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which includes the Game Pass library on both Xbox One and PC, xCloud game streaming, and Xbox Live Gold. Of course, you can still pay for the consoles upfront if you’d prefer not to be locked into a 24-month contract.
How much does Xbox All Access cost?
The Xbox Series S is confirmed to cost $299, while Windows Central reports it’ll also have an All Access cost of $25 a month. The report also says the Xbox Series X will cost $499, with an option to pay $35 a month with Xbox All Access.
Considering Xbox All Access is reported to include Game Pass Ultimate, you’re actually saving money going this route. At $25 a month over two years for the Xbox Series S, you’ll pay $600 total. Normally, the console costs $299 and two years of Game Pass Ultimate costs $360–that’s a $60 savings. For the Xbox Series X, you’ll pay $35 a month over two years–that’s $840 total. The Series X is reported to cost $499, and if you add on the $360 Game Pass Ultimate cost, you’re still saving $20.
Microsoft has already announced that if you’re already an All Access subcriber, you can upgrade to the Xbox Series X after you’ve reached 18 payments on your current contract. This gets you the Xbox Series X with a new Xbox All Access contract after trading in your original Xbox One. At this point, Microsoft has not announced whether the Xbox Series S will also be available this way.
When can I sign up for Xbox All Access?
Microsoft hasn’t announced when you’ll be able to pre-order the Xbox Series X or Series S nor has the company revealed when you can sign up for Xbox All Access. The Series S launches November 10, and the Series X is expected the same day. That’s only two months away, so you can expect to hear something from Microsoft relatively soon.
Where can I buy Xbox All Access?
In the past, Xbox All Access was sold exclusively in the US and UK through Amazon, Best Buy, and Microsoft Store locations. It’s unclear if this will be the same for the Series S and Series X’s All Access programs, but we should know soon since the consoles release in two months. Windows Central expects Xbox All Access to open to more countries for the Series S and Series X launch.
