SteelSeries has unveiled a new gaming headset that’s compatible with the PlayStation 5. The SteelSeries Arctis 9 wireless gaming headset is available now for $200 directly from SteelSeries. Like other SteelSeries headsets, it should be available at other retailers soon. The Arctis 9 is quite similar to the Arctis 9X that debuted last year, but it supports PlayStation platforms rather than Xbox.
The SteelSeries Arctis 9 is a high-quality wireless gaming headset that pinpoints sounds, giving you an immersive audio experience. It uses a 2.4GHz wireless connection with a USB dongle that can be plugged into a PC, PS4, or PS5. The Arctis 9 also supports a simultaneous Bluetooth connection for music, chat, and phone calls.
A retractable Discord-certified boom mic is located on the left earcup. There’s also a mixing dial that can help you get the right levels of game audio and chat, though it’s only compatible with PC. The Arctis 9 can run for 20 hours on a full charge and is powered by microUSB. You can also use a wired connection with the included 3.5mm audio cord.
The SteelSeries Arctis 9 joins the growing number of third-party headsets that have been confirmed to work on PS5 on day one. Last week, Astro announced that most of its lineup of premium gaming headsets will have PS5 and Xbox Series X support. Turtle Beach also has a handy guide detailing which of its PS4 headsets will work with PS5.
